Amanda brings to Abernathy Entertainment many years of skillful emcee and DJ experience.  In fact, she previously owned her own DJ business for more than five years.  As a visiting DJ, Amanda is co-located residing in San Diego, CA yet travels to Tallahassee, FL and DJ's for special events. As an emcee, she brings an extraordinary level of fun and energy to every event she works. Music truly moves her and you'll often find her dancing behind the booth or hyping up the crowd.  With her outgoing personality, Amanda has never met a stranger, loves people, and believes music makes everything better!

Andrea is living life with vigor. She is a graduate of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering as well as a retired division chief after a prestigious 26-year career with the fire department. Andrea is a brilliant emcee, engaging eventgoers with her happy demeanor and winning smile. She shares that she uses her left hemisphere for her day job, in emergency management consulting, while making her right hemisphere happy exploring photography and music.  Andrea says "The arts help connect us to one another, and music is one of the most powerful in that respect."

Arkia is currently studying for her bachelor’s degree in social work at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.  She loves to be involved in activities that encourage and bring joy to people’s lives, whether that is engaging with crowds as a DJ and emcee, or making a difference to those she helps through social work.  Known for her outgoing and fun personality, Arkia lights up any room.  Music definitely moves this DJ and you’ll likely see her dancing behind the booth while guests enjoy the dance floor. Her favorite quote is “If I’m shining, everybody’s shining!” – Lizzo.

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in business management.  By day, he is a sales pro for a national industrial supplier and by night, he takes on his fun DJ persona entertaining crowds with his great sense of humor and outgoing personality.  Dan is no amateur to the DJ world.  For several years, he brought dance floors to life as a mobile wedding and party DJ, as well as provided DJ services for Skate World.  As a wedding DJ, Dan loves to celebrate the joining of new families and their commitment to a lifetime of love, happiness, and, of course, fun!  Dan is a Father of two, with a son attending the University of Central Florida (UCF) who plans to join the UCF football team (“Go Knights!”), and a daughter who competes in a travel volleyball league.  He and his wife spend their free time “cheering on” their kids as they achieve their athletic and academic goals.  His philosophy is “Family is first.”

Krista is a Tallahassee native with a bachelor’s degree in English from Florida State University (FSU).  By day she is a federal government contractor in the criminal justice field, but by night Krista is a DJ and emcee extraordinaire.  Drawing from her prior training as a news reporter, Krista has the professional voice needed for engaging events, as well as the confidence as a hype woman to get people on the dance floor.  When she isn’t working, Krista can be found in the kitchen cooking up gourmet meals for her friends and family and daydreaming of being the next Food Network star.

Melinda holds a bachelor's degree in English, served for ten years as a high school teacher and guidance counselor, and currently works as a data analyst for Federal renewable energy programs. Melinda brings her technical expertise and high level of fun and enthusiasm to all events she DJs! Married in 2021, she now DJs with Abernathy Entertainment for special events, but spends her free time with her new husband and raising teenagers. Through her teaching career, she is keenly knowledgeable of lyric appropriateness for school- and family-hosted events while also being aware of what songs are popular with younger groups.

Rachael (“Rae”) holds an Associate of Arts degree in general art studies. By day, she works in the human resources field but by night she is a DJ and vivacious emcee. When she’s not painting her next masterpiece, Rae spends her time buried in headphones exploring all genres of new music. From classics on vinyl to the latest EP release, there’s no type of music that doesn’t hype her up. A natural social butterfly, Rae brightens every room with her amazing smile and outgoing personality. She believes that combining good music and positive energy creates the best memories that last!

Mickey worked as a professional DJ entertaining crowds of all sizes in the Tallahassee nightclub business at the Riverfront Saloon for more than 12 years. Today, Mickey provides excellent support through equipment management ensuring our lady DJs have the right equipment they need to provide flawless service.
